BearingPoint’s EU Practice
EU is a strategic account for BearingPoint’s GPS (Government and Public Sector) segment, and for the whole firm. It is managed by a dedicated core team, based in Brussels, focus on delivering and coordinating all aspects of business with European Institutions (incl. projects delivery, business development, framework contracts management).
BearingPoint’s EU Account Team supports EU and International Institutions in developing and nurturing continuous improvement in their policies, structures, processes, people and technologies, by providing consultancy across three different but complementary areas: Policy and Strategy, Management Consulting, and Data & Analytics (incl. Technology). The team works in collaboration with local teams (GPS and others) in the EU countries, especially on mobilising expertise and delivering projects in the respective countries (e.g., for Agencies and other bodies)
As mentioned, Bearing Point is currently in the process of strengthening its EU account team in order to drive the ambitious plans to further grow the impact and scope of the work it delivers to the EU institutions and agencies. Key to BearingPoint’s sustained success has been to deliver advice that combines good practices from other organisations and internationally recognised frameworks and methodologies with the specificities of the client.
The role
To keep growing according to its ambitious plans, the EU Account Team is looking for a SeniorManager with experience in the field of Public Health at EU/International level.
Our new colleague is expected to be able to provide both distinctive, advanced technical knowledge in this field (i.e., acting as subject-matter expert in one or more healthcare domains) and managerial and market savviness, to steer and enhance the footprint of the team working on health at EU and International level.
More in details, the Senior Manager will play a key role in
- supporting EU, International, and national authorities in initiatives in the field of public health, including public policies, implementation of EU legislation, strategies, programmes, and other related interventions;
- contributing developing BearingPoint’s expertise and positioning in the EU public health ecosystem, and vis-à-vis its EU clients more in general, working closely with the EU Account Partner and other consultants (in Brussels and across Europe) serving the EU institutions and Agencies, or with relevant expertise for this account (cross-dissemination);
- managing the existing portfolio of engagements and framework contracts, and furtherly expanding the company footprint with relevant clients (DG SANTE, ECDC, EMA, HaDeA, HERA, etc.), by spotting the buying triggers of relevant clients, and in positioning BearingPoint proactively to increase its commercial success;
- ensuring relevant colleagues are equipped with the necessary knowledge, guidance and resources for the success in their projects - including having clear understanding of the policy drivers in the area of public health at EU level;
- providing the BearingPoint Healthcare community with distinctive, advanced knowledge. The Senior Manager will work as key expert on Health, and will work together in the BearingPoint network of offices across Europe, to ensure the highest quality of service is delivered to BearingPoint’s clients.
The main responsibilities of the Senior Manager will be:
- contributing to the growth and development of BearingPoint’s EU account with technical knowledge and experience in public sector consulting;
- Strengthening and maintaining close relationships with key institutional stakeholders;
- leveraging the existing network of contacts to collect intelligence on new business opportunities;
- contributing to high-quality and timely delivery of client projects, by taking ownership and efficiently leading teamwork, and coordinating internal stakeholders;
- leading the development of proposals, and managing the response process to Request for Services in the aforementioned domains (Policy and Strategy, Management Consulting, and Data & Analytics), including identifying and coordinating the contributions of technical and sectorial experts within BearingPoint, or from personal/firm network;
- overseeing the delivery of projects for EU institutions or EU agencies in the same domains, ensuring client satisfaction and high quality in delivery;.
- contributing to the definition of the strategy (incl. market strategy) and of the positioning of BearingPoint in the EU Healthcare market;
- contributing to leadership in the area of EU public health, and animation of the EU/Healthcare events; and,
- Actively contribute to knowledge sharing / capitalisation of the EU experience to other BearingPoint offices and teams.
The requirements
- A master’s degree in Political Sciences, European Studies, Business Administration, Life Sciences or comparable educational background; specialism in public health an advantage
- A proven professional experience in management consulting and delivering of successful projects for the EU Institutions and public sector in the field of public health, including experience of their functioning, main policy directions, organisational characteristics and its main processes is a clear advantage;
- A sound interest in and demonstrated experience with successful projects in one or more of the indicated domains (Policy and Strategy, Management Consulting, and Data & Analytics)
- Excellent command of English (spoken and written) is mandatory. Proficiency in one or several other EU languages (in particular Dutch, French and/or German) is a differentiating asset;
- Team management experience is a must;
- Strong capabilities in business development and client management in a professional services environment (e.g. consulting services)is a must;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients at all levels;
- Entrepreneurial mindset;
- Hands-on and result-oriented, with a can-do mentality;
- Willingness to transfer knowledge and experience to team members;
- Comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, and willingness to travel (if projects require so)

- Beyond the EU account team, you will be integrated in a Government and Public Sector team (GPS) of more than 500 consultants, actively working for Public Sectors in Germany, France, UK, Ireland, and in the Nordics.
- The Senior Manager will be integrated both in the BearingPoint Belgium office and in the GPS community.
